Joseph Dungate was baptised on 3rd February 1660 in East Grinstead, Sussex. He was the son of Joseph Dungate & Sarah Heasman. He was mentioned in his fathers 'Will' of 1667 and his aunt Joan's will of 1693. He married Anne Dungate on 20th May 1686 in Balcombe, Sussex (license issued at Lewes on 28th May 1686, Anne shown as a spinster from West Hoathly and John's occupation was described as a "Cooper". sureties by JD & Richard Dodson of Lewes, goldsmith). He was mentioned in his mother in law Jane Dungate's 'Will' of 1695. Joseph was probably buried on 24th March 1744 in Lindfield, Sussex and

Anne Dungate was possibly baptised on 4th June 1660 in possibly West Hoathly, Sussex the daughter of Henry Dungate & Jane Plaw. She was mentioned in her mother's 'Will' of 1695. Ann was possibly buried on 13th September 1729 in Lindfield, Sussex.

  2. Henry Dungate (Downgate) was baptised on 24th November 1689 in Lindfield, Sussex and he was buried there on 3rd September 1693 (' son of Joseph Downgate').
  3. Anne Dungate (Downgate) was baptised on 18th January 1693 in Lindfield, Sussex. She was mentioned in her grand mother Jane Dungate's 'Will' of 1695.
  4. Jane Dungate (Downgate) was baptised on 25th December 1695 in Lindfield, Sussex. She was mentioned in her grand mother Jane Dungate's 'Will' of 1695. She married Thomas Feldwick . Details of Jane Dungate & Thomas Feldwick are shown separately as they are direct ancestors.
  5. Elizabeth Dungate (Downgate) was baptised on 25th June 1698 in Lindfield, Sussex.(there is a query on this entry of whether the twin really existed)
  6. Hannah Dungate ( Hanah Downgate) was baptised on 25th June 1698 in Lindfield, Sussex. Hannah was maybe possibly buried on 6th July 1766 in Lindfield, Sussex.
  7. John Dungate (Downgate) was baptised on 30th March 1701 in Lindfield, Sussex. John was maybe possibly buried on 4th July 1766 in Lindfield, Sussex.
  8. Joseph Dungate (Downgate) was baptised on 4th June 1703 in Lindfield, Sussex and he was buried there on 23rd August 1703 (' son of Joseph Downgate').
