2. John Carpenter was baptised on 21^st April 1605 in Chailey, Sussex. He married and had eight children.
   1. Martha Carpenter was baptised on 15^th March 1629 in Chailey, Sussex.
   2. Joan Carpenter ( Joanne) was baptised on 4^th September 1631 in Chailey, Sussex.
   3. John Carpenter was baptised on 27^th May 1633 in Chailey, Sussex.
   4. William Carpenter was baptised on 29^th November 1635 in Chailey, Sussex.
   5. Richard Carpenter was baptised on 27^th December 1637 in Chailey, Sussex and he was buried there on 10^th March 1638 ('son of John').
   6. Mary Carpenter was baptised on 13^th October 1639 in Chailey, Sussex.
   7. Susanna Carpenter was baptised on 18^th April 1641 in Chailey, Sussex.
   8. Thomas Carpenter (Thos) was baptised on 12^th September 1643 in Chailey, Sussex.
3. Ano Carpenter was buried on 2^nd April 1608 in Chailey, Sussex (' a child of William').
4. Richard Carpenter was baptised on 24^th June 1610 in Chailey, Sussex. He married Margery Pepper on 23^rd May 1633 in Chailey, Sussex. Richard left a 'Will' dated 14^th December 1668 and was buried on 18^th December 1668 in Chailey, Sussex. Margery was probably buried on 29^th March 1676 in Chailey, Sussex. Richard & Margery had seven known children.
   1. William Carpenter was baptised on 3^rd May 1635 in Chailey, Sussex.  He was mentioned in his father Richard's 'Will' of 1668. He married Sarah. Sarah was buried on 12th November 1694 in Chailey, Sussex ('wife of William'). William & Sarah had possibly ten children and were living at Barcombe in 1678.
      1. Ano Carpenter was baptised on 6^th January 1662 in Barcombe, Sussex (Note: may be duplicate of child B)
      2. Richard Carpenter was baptised on 6^th January 1663 in Chailey, Sussex (William of Barcombe) and he was buried there in January 1663 ('son of William').
      3. John Carpenter was baptised on 7^th February 1664 in Chailey, Sussex.
      4. William Carpenter was baptised on 9^th April 1667 in Barcombe, Sussex ('son of William & Sarah'). William was possibly buried on 31st January 1688 in Barcombe, Sussex ('son of William').
      5. Sarah Carpenter was baptised on 2^nd March 1670 in Chailey, Sussex.
      6. Richard Carpenter was baptised on 28^th July 1672 in Chailey, Sussex and he was buried there on 13th September 1674 ('son of William').
      7. Elizabeth Carpenter was baptised on 16^th June 1675 in Chailey, Sussex and she was buried there on 17th July 1675 ('dau of William').
      8. Thomas Carpenter was baptised on 5^th July 1676 in Chailey, Sussex.
      9. Richard Carpenter was baptised on 14^th October 1678 in Chailey, Sussex and he was buried there on 16^th December 1679 ('son of William').
      10. Mary Carpenter was baptised on 6^th March 1681 in Chailey, Sussex.
   2. Eleanor Carpenter (Eliner) was baptised on 22^nd November 1637 in Chailey, Sussex. Se was mentioned in her father Richard's 'Will' of 1668 as Eleanor Kenward. She married Nicholas Kenward (or Kennard) on 29th September 1662 in Newick, Sussex and had two children (Nicolas & William)
   3. Anne Carpenter was baptised on 21^st February 1640 in Chailey, Sussex and she was buried there on 26^th March 1640 ('daughter of Richard'). 
   4. Richard Carpenter was baptised on 28^th March 1641 in Chailey, Sussex.  He was mentioned in his father Richard's 'Will' of 1668. Richard was possibly buried on 29th April 1684 in Chailey, Sussex. Richard had four children.
      1. Francis Carpenter was baptised on 28^th September 1674 in Chailey, Sussex.
      2. Walter Carpenter was baptised on 24^th February 1676 in Chailey, Sussex.
      3. John Carpenter was baptised on 20^th June 1678 in Chailey, Sussex.
      4. Richard Carpenter was baptised on 25^th March 1680 in Chailey, Sussex and he was buried there on 22th June 1680 ('son of Richard').
   5. Mary Carpenter was baptised on 3^rd January 1645 in Chailey, Sussex. She was mentioned in her father Richard's 'Will' of 1668.
